He graduated from the Free University of Berlin worked as an assistant doctor in the orthopedic department of Urban City Hospital.
He also served as a research associate in the Oscar-Helene-Heim Orthopedic Clinic at the University of Berlin, where he later became a senior physician in the Department of Orthopedics. He is head of the department of pediatric orthopedics and traumatology in clinic Helios Emil von Behring for 13 years already.
