A leading oncologist from Isnani, who holds the post of Director of the Oncology Institute at the Quirón Salud Hospital in Barcelona. He conducted the first clinical trials on patients using monoclonal antibodies (Erbitux and Herceptin) targeting the epidermal growth factor receptor, the results of which have improved the life expectancy of thousands of patients worldwide.
Dr. Baselga has worked at the Vall d’Ebrona University Hospital, the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Centre, Harvard Medical School and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the European Society for Medical Oncology, as well as the Mike Price Gold Medal from the European Association for Cancer Research and the Rosenthal Family Foundation Award from the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).
