Prof. Hartmut Döhner

A specialist in oncology.

Dr. H. Döhner is a Professor of Medicine and has been Medical Director of the Department of Internal Medicine at the University Hospital Ulm since 1999. He has also been the Director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center of Ulm since 2006 and has been the Research Coordinator of the Research Center SFB 1074 since 2012. Dr. Döner studied medicine at the University of Regensburg, Freiburg and Montpellier (France). He studied haematology and oncology at the University of Heidelberg. Dr. Döner is an expert in clinical trials and clinical diagnostics of genetic changes in hematological malignancies, including acute and chronic leukemia.

The professor’s clinical focus:

• Chairman of the German-Austrian AML Study Group (AMLSG);
• Member of the WHO advisory committee on the classification of hematopoietic and lymphatic tumors
  (2008-2016);
• Member of the committee on myeloid neoplasia of the American Society of Hematology (2011-2014);
• Member of the European Hematology Association EHA (2014-2018);
• Member of the Scientific Committee of the European School of Hematology ESH (2018-2020);
• Winner of the European José Carreras Prize (2014).
