He received his medical education at the Ludwig-Maximilian University.
From 1980 to 1983, he was a physician assistant in the surgical department of the Dachau Clinic.
From 1983 to 1987, he was a physician’s assistant at the Ludwig-Maximilian Hospital Urology Clinic.
From 1987 to 2006, he was chief physician at the Department of Urology at the Ludwig-Maximilian University Hospital.
From 2007 to 2017, he was head of the Department of Urogenital Surgery at the Center for Small Pelvic Surgery in Munich Bogenhausen Clinic.
From 2017, he was head of the Center for Reconstructive Urogenital Surgery at the Clinic Munich-Planegg.
The doctor has published more than 290 scientific publications, including 40 medical books, 65 scientific articles and a manual on oncosurgery in urology.
