About the doctor
Pioneer of urology in Lithuania. Leading specialist of urology in Meliva Kardiolitos Klinikos. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University, where in 1987 he was promoted to professor. He supervised the Clinic of nephrourology of the Vilnius University Medical Faculty. For several years he served as director of the Center for Nephrology, Dialysis, Transplantation and Urology at the Vilnius University Hospital Santariski Klipikos. Since 2010 he works as a urologist in a private hospital in Meliva. In 1970, with a team of surgeons, he performed kidney transplantation for the first time in Lithuania, and in 1983 he discovered a unique method of preparing for a kidney transplant. In 2000, for the first time in Lithuania, he performed liver transplantation.
