Features of the Clinic

Why do patients from all over the worlds want to come to the Nord Clinic?

The Allianz ‘s multidisciplinary clinics employ 8,000 professionals, most of whom have been practising medicine for 10 years or more.

Professor Sebastian Melchior, head of the urology department at the Klinik Mitte and oncological urologist with more than 23 years of experience, has been recognized as one of the best experts in Germany.

Under the leadership of orthopaedic surgeon Dr Michael Paul, a specialist with 30 years of experience, the orthopaedic department of the Nord Clinics has become the Center for German Traumatology and Orthopedics.

More than 2,800 successful hip replacements are performed here each year along with knee arthroscopy. Arthroscopy allows for the most accurate diagnosis of knee pathologies and a successful mini-surgery with a 2-day recovery time at the same time.

For 100% accurate diagnosis, local doctors use the latest generation of medical equipment. In particular, they use modern PET-MRI and a new version of the da Vinci robot-assisted surgical system.

During a cancer diagnosis with PET-MRI equipment, the patient receives almost 10 times less radiation dose than during a conventional computed tomography (CT) scan. This provides the doctor with the highest quality image, allowing detection of the tumours in organs with maximum precision, to determine the extent of brain lesions, and to minimize negative outcomes during neurosurgery.

All of the Allianz ‘s cancer centers are certified by the German Cancer Society DKG (Deutsche Krebsgesellschaft e.V.). This confirms that all seven Nord Cancer Centers are equipped with the latest generation of equipment and treat cancer patients following international quality standards of care.
