Smoothing the contour of the chin gives the face a softer, more feminine shape. It is used to narrow the chin line. The idea is to reduce the thickness of the jawbone by several millimetres.
During the procedure, the surgeon makes an incision inside the mouth, behind the wisdom teeth or near the outer corner of the jaw near the ear. The incision is 3-5 cm long.
