About the doctor
Professor Shimon Reif is currently the head of the pediatric department of the Hadassah Medical Center Ein Kerem and is considered one of the best specialists in pediatric gastroenterology and pediatrics in Israel. He worked as a pediatric gastroenterologist at the Children’s Hospital of Buffalo New York and at the Tel Aviv Medical Center. Conducted research in the field of molecular biology at the Medical Center Sheba. He was engaged in research of liver fibrosis in the laboratory of the UNC hospital (North Carolina, USA). He studied the way of signal transmission of proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells. In recent years, his research has been devoted to the antifibrotic mechanism of vitamin D. He is president of the Israeli Association of Pediatricians and associate editor of the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition (JPGN). Has more than 100 publications and 20 monographs in international publications.
