Dr. Britta Siegmund

Head of the medical clinic of gastroenterology, infectious diseases and rheumatology at Charite, a campus named after Benjamin Franklin. She graduated from the University of Ludwig-Maximilian in Munich and the Harvard Medical School in Boston. Then she studied infectious diseases at the University of Colorado.

She was the Chairman of the Working Group on Inflammatory Bowel Diseases in Germany. Has a certificate of the Council of Gastroenterology of Germany. She received the title “Rising Star in Gastroenterology” from ASNMGE, the Young Investigator Award from the International Society of Cytokines, and the Harvard-Munich-Alliance Award for Education in Medicine. She is a recognized expert in inflammatory bowel diseases, especially Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
