Prof. Emili Montserrat

A world-renowned oncologist and haematologist. He is a professor of medicine at the University of Barcelona and director of the Institute of Haematology and Oncology at Barcelona Hospital. He also practises at the Teknon Clinic. In addition to his training and experience at various hospitals in France and England, he was also a visiting professor at the University of San Diego, California. This renowned doctor is one of the founders of the International Workshop on Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (IWCLL) and the European Haematology Association. Professor Emili Montserrat is one of the world’s most prestigious specialists in the field of leukaemia and lymphoma and one of Spain’s best-known doctors. He is also a leukaemia and lymphoma expert for the World Health Organisation. The professor has received numerous awards, including the Lilly Prize in Biomedicine, the European Society for Oncology Achievement Award, the National Oncology Prize (Fundación Echevarne, Spain), the Rai-Binet Medal (IWCLL) and the ‘Outstanding Senior Researcher of the University of Barcelona’ award.
