The doctor graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Granada. In 1997 he worked as a researcher at the National Heart and Lung Institute of the Royal Brompton (London) under the supervision of Professor Robert Anderson.
After his return from London, he was the Head of the Arrhythmia Unit in the Cardiology Department of the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora del Pino Hospital in Las Palmas until 2000. He was then Deputy Head of the Arrhythmia Unit and Director of the Electrophysiology Laboratory at the Jiménez Díaz Foundation in Madrid.
He is Professor of Cardiology at the Universidad Autónoma and Director of the Fellowship Programme of the North American Society of Cardiac Stimulation and Electrophysiology (Heart Rhythm Society).
Dr José Angel Cabrera is a Professor at the European University of Madrid, where he directs the Department of Clinical and Basic Translational Cardiology.
He is a member of numerous medical organisations, among them: the European Society of Cardiology, the European Heart Rhythm Association, the Spanish Society of Cardiology, etc.
Author of more than 80 scientific publications.
