Prof. Art Hiranyakas

One of Thailand’s leading colorectal surgeons with extensive professional experience. Immediately after completing his training in general surgery, he was appointed as a surgical instructor at Prince Songkla University. He subsequently attained the rank of professor at Shanghai University of Science and Technology. The professor has also undertaken training at leading educational and medical institutions worldwide and has obtained the following certificates:

• Certificate of Advanced Training in Colorectal Surgery, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Weston, Florida, USA.
• Certificate in Robotic Surgery (da Vinci system), University of California, San Diego, California, USA.
• Certificate in Advanced Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery, Queensland, Australia.
• Certificate as a Clinical Research Fellow in Colorectal Surgery and Pelvic Floor Physiology, National University, Singapore.

During his training alone, Dr Hiranyakas gained extensive experience (over 900 colorectal procedures) in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and benign colorectal conditions. He is also skilled in endoanal and endorectal ultrasound.

Dr Hiranyakas is the author of numerous publications and has contributed to several books. He is also a current member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and the International College of Surgeons (ICS).
