Clinic Review
The network of ophthalmological centers Dünyagöz was founded in 1996, which is one of the largest in Turkey. At present, the number of medical centers of the network located in Turkey and abroad has grown to 23. All hospitals are accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) which confirms Dünyagöz's compliance with the generally recognized world standards of medicine. In addition, Dünyagöz is one of the few specialized networks that received the JCI certificate.
Annually about 500 000 patients are treated here and more than 80 000 surgical procedures are performed.
The services are provided by a highly qualified team of specialists of more than 2000 people, 200 of which have scientific degrees.
More recently, the family of hospitals Dünyagöz has replenished with two medical centers in Germany.
The management of the Dünyagöz group put great emphasis on the quality of service and patient care. Specialists apply more than 270 modern methods of correction of different types of ophthalmologic pathology. The equipment includes the latest laser equipment and computer diagnostic devices.
Features of the Clinic
Departments at Dünyagöz Hospitals
Diagnostic Department
Here, the specialist-ophthalmologist conducts a full examination of the eye and intraocular media, lacrimal canals, the fundus, determination of visual acuity and measurement of intraocular pressure. A full complex of diagnostics takes from 20 to 30 minutes on average.
Center for Laser Surgery and Implantation
In this department, all modern methods of laser surgery (including excimer laser), used to correct astigmatism, hyperopia and myopia of different degrees of complexity are available. Implants of intraocular lenses are also performed here (implanting an artificial lens).
For the correction of hyperopia, other laser techniques are used, for example, Presbylasik, implantation of the artificial lens and surgical manipulations with the cornea.
Cataract Surgery Center - thanks to the most automated laser systems used for the surgical treatment of cataracts (femtolaser surgery), the risks of infection of the operating field are significantly reduced and the recovery period is decreased. The procedure itself takes an average of 15 to 20 minutes.
In addition to femtolaser surgery, the specialists of the center also practice a more standard procedure for phacoemulsification of the lens with subsequent replacement with an artificial lens.
Physiotherapy Department
Restoration of visual function after surgical interventions is one of the most important stages of the integrated therapeutic approach. Physiotherapeutic ophthalmic techniques are also used in the therapeutic non-surgical correction of strabismus and many other pathologies.
Department for Amblyopia Treatment
Various techniques are used for the treatment of lazy eye syndrome, including special exercises, interactive computer programs, the Neurovision technique, isolated methods of stimulating the lazy eye.
Center for the Treatment of Corneal Diseases
The use of various tactics for the treatment of corneal pathology makes it possible to obtain the desired result in treatment. To correct the cone-shaped form of the cornea (keratoconus), crosslinking is actively used here making it possible to change the collagen structure of the corneal fibers due to the influence of various physical and chemical factors on them and to stop the progression of the disease. In addition to crosslinking, a good result is given by procedures with the introduction of riboflavin and ultraviolet irradiation followed by the imposition of a special lens.
Here, the most complicated transplants of the donor and artificial cornea are used.
Department of Neuro Ophthalmology conducts treatment of patients with ptosis, diseases of the optic nerve, temporary loss of vision.
In all ophthalmological clinics of Dünyagöz, contact lens selection, surgical and non-surgical correction of glaucoma, oculoplasty operations on eyelids, lacrimal canals, interventions on eye tumors, correction of ptosis and eye infections.
Full range of diagnostics and treatment is available for both adults and children of different ages.
Advantages of eye treatment and surgery in Turkey in Dünyagöz Hospitals
In addition to the gold standard of world medicine JCI, Dünyagöz clinics are certified with TÜV, ISO standards, here consumable material and preparations are used which are approved by the FDA (American Food and Drug Administration).
The world-renowned professor of ophthalmology Ioannis G. Pallikaris (author of the LASIK correction technique) is a scientific consultant in the medical research network.
Being one of the leaders in the field of ophthalmology in Turkey, the clinic first started the successful application of the corneal cross-linking procedure for the correction of keratoconus. To date, more than 20,000 procedures have been performed.
The technical equipment of the centers corresponds to the modern trends of world ophthalmology:
