About the doctor
Thomas Dirschka is Germany’s leading specialist in dermatology. He discovered new methods of imaging skin structure, precise measurement of derma parameters. He also made a number of important studies on the treatment of oral mucosa, prevention of skin aging, methods of operative dermatology.
He is credited with the discovery of photodynamic therapy, when light-sensitive substances are injected into the body that accumulate in tumor cells and then, with the help of light exposure, these substances trigger a special reaction that destroys the tumor.
Dr. Dirschka is the author of more than 200 publications, including highly successful monographs. He has created 5 practical manuals and a textbook entitled “Dermatology”, which has been adopted and is actively used in German universities and colleges. Quite frequent public lectures on dermatology, which he has given, have already accumulated more than 800.
Thomas Dirschka is a member of more than 50 international medical and social organizations, many of which he chairs. He is a regular guest at events of all levels. The medical center founded by him has been operating in Düsseldorf since 2010.
