About the doctor
Head of Thoracic Surgery at Marmara University Hospital.
Born in 1953 in Ankara. In 1977, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ankara. In 1983, he practiced breast diseases and thoracic surgery at the same university.
Until the summer of 1990, he worked as Assistant Chief at the Heybeliad Centre for Chest Diseases and Thoracic Surgery. In 1991, Dr. Yüksel worked as an assistant at Marmara University. From 1991 to 1992 he worked at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London under the supervision of Dr. Peter Goldstrow.
Dr. Yüksel became Associate Professor in 1994 and Professor in 1999. He is the author of many articles and books (“Thoracic Surgery”, “Oesophageal Diseases and Treatment”). For some time he was president of the Turkish Thoracic Surgery Association.
In 2009, he founded the Chest Wall International Group (CWIG), which includes 450 physicians from 52 countries.
He performed chest surgeries in 14 countries including England, France, Spain, Russia, Cuveit, Macedonia, Egypt and Belgium using his own methods. In all this time, the professor has trained over 100 specialists from all over the world.
