About the doctor
She is the Medical Director of WPE and also heads the Particle Therapy Department at the West German Proton Therapy Center in Essen (WPE). Dr Timmermann founded the proton therapy consulting centre for children with cancer. She has extensive experience in the treatment of head, neck, prostate and pelvic tumours. She has worked extensively with children in recent years.
