About the doctor
Pioneer of Neurosurgery in India. He is the founder of micro-neurosurgery in the country, and also the author of standards of neurosurgical training. Professor made an invaluable contribution to the development of aneurysm surgery of the brain, peripheral nerve surgery and transsphenoidal surgery.
In 1988 he became head of the Center of Neurobiology at AIIMS. After successful work at AIIMS, he founded VIMHANS (Institute of Medical Sciences Vidyasagara) in New Delhi, which became one of the country’s first centers for mental health and neurology in the private sector. At the moment, he is a senior adviser at the Medanta hospital.
