Received training in internal medicine at Ankara Medical School in Gata. He completed a course in clinical training in the field of medical oncology and hematology in the US, Dallas, Texas. Participated in the first bone marrow transplantation in Turkey.
At various occasions he acted as a guest lecturer at the Westminster Charing Cross Hospital, Hammersmith, the Royal University Hospital of London and at the Basel Canton Hospital in Switzerland.
After passing the exam, organized by the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), received a certificate in medical oncology. Prof. Yuskent is one of the 7 founding members of the Turkish Society of Medical Oncology, as well as the founder of the Turkish Oncology Group (TOG).
