Prof. Karl Heinz Cook

A world-famous cardiologist and a leading specialist of the Asklepios Saint George Clinic. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Cologne. Completed his internship at the Clinical Electrophysiology Department of the University Hospital of Limburg, the Netherlands. From 1985 to 1994, he held managerial positions at the Eppendorf clinic. He received several prizes by the name of Dr. Martini for co-authorship in important scientific works of the world. For the past 23 years, he has been head of the cardiology department at Asklepios Saint George.

Prof. Karl Heinz Cook is a recognized expert in the therapy of heart rhythm disturbances and electrophysiology. He was repeatedly recognized as the best cardiologist in Germany according to the magazine Focus. In 2014, the cardiologists of the Asklepios Clinic, headed by Prof. Cook performed a 1000-th operation to install aortic valve. Among his patients are Nobel prizewinner Dr. Gunter Grass, ex-German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt, singer David Bowie, and others.
