Dr. Shirish M. Hastak is a widely known specialist in neurology who received a scholarship at the Western University of Canada under the guidance of Professor Vladimir Hutchinsky, world-famous in the field of stroke treatment.
Since 1990 he worked in the famous clinics in department of neurology, where he was engaged in the therapy of stroke. While working at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital Mumbai, he was the first to use thrombolysis combined with mechanical intervention (bridge therapy) to treat hyper-acute stroke in India.
He is President of the Indian Stroke Association.
