Clinic Review

The Victor Hugo Oncology Clinic is one of the leading medical centres specializing in cancer treatment in France. The institution has been successfully operating for 53 years. It is a member of the Institut Inter-RégionaL de Cancérologie group.

More than 13,000 patients receive chemotherapy in this hospital each year, and doctors treat a total of 16,000 cancer patients. The oncologic centre uses the latest methods of treatment, diagnostic and therapeutic equipment corresponding to modern standards. The Hugo Clinic staff includes specialists in oncology, haematology, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Features of the Clinic

The medical centre utilizes the services of the Department of Radiation Therapy and the Department of Nuclear Medicine, so patients can receive the full range of services they need on their way to recovery.

The Center has a team of top-notch doctors, including Cédric Laffont, a world-renowned general oncologist and member of the French Society of Young Radiotherapists-Oncologists. Thanks to his professional skills and experience, hundreds of patients with lung, ovarian, cervical and breast cancer and gastrointestinal tumours have been treated.

The Hugo Clinic also benefits from its partnership with Sorecoh, a company that specializes in clinical research in oncology and cardiac haematology treatments - this partnership makes new, well-researched treatment options that are effectively accepted by the body available to patients at the Victor Hugo Clinic.

The Hugo Clinic not only incorporates internationally proven developments in cancer therapy into its work but also engages in specialized research on its own. This allows doctors to make more accurate decisions and create the most effective therapy programs - individualized for each cancer patient.

The Hugo Oncology Clinic has TrueBeam equipment, a unique system that is a linear accelerator with which radiosurgery can be performed with a 1 mm accuracy. This is due to the high-quality visual control. In addition, such precision guarantees the safety of the therapy for healthy tissues, because they are not affected.

TrueBeam combines all radiation therapy methods as well as Gated RT, SRS, SBRT, RapidArc, IMRT and IGRT.

Comfortable conditions for patients at the Victor Hugo Clinic

The Hugo Cancer Center outpatient clinic has 21 single rooms and 6 double rooms for patients who are admitted for long-term treatment. All rooms are equipped with a telephone, a TV set, a staff call button, and each room has a toilet. There are comfortable armchairs in the living rooms.

Foreign patients are accompanied by an interpreter, which facilitates communication with the clinic staff.

Important additional services offered by the institution include consultations with a psychologist and a nutritionist. The first specialist will help solve the psychological difficulties that a patient with cancer may be facing. The second specialist will explain the doctor's prescriptions regarding diet, advise on dishes according to taste preferences, and help formulate a menu.
