Methods of cancer treatment in the European Institute of Oncology
SURGICAL REMOVAL OF TUMORS IN IEO
The European Institute of Oncology is one of the leading centers in Italy for the number of minimally invasive interventions using laparoscopy and robotic technologies. Surgery is performed in cases, if other methods of therapy do not give positive result. In certain cases, surgery is often combined with non-invasive methods, which allows them to achieve the maximum effect of treatment.
Thanks to advanced operational technologies, breast cancer tumor can be treated in one day. This is possible in the early stages of this disease - the success of the operation is 98%.
CHEMOTHERAPY IN THE EUROPEAN INSTITUTE OF ONCOLOGY
This medical center use unique drug complex that have been developed for rapidly progressing forms of cancer. They use sessions, which allows to maintain the effect and regulate the influence of components on the general state of the body.
IMMUNOTHERAPY IN EUROPEAN INSTITUTE OF ONCOLOGY
This method of therapy involves the administration of substances to the patient that activate the immune response. Thanks to this body itself starts to fight with cancer cells. The IEO combines this method with chemotherapy. At the moment, the medical center continues to develop new, optimized drugs for immunotherapy.
RADIOTHERAPY IN EUROPEAN INSTITUTE OF ONCOLOGY
The Center for Advanced Radiation Therapy at the European Institute of Oncology is one of the best in the world. Advanced technologies are used here, thanks to which more than 4,500 patients receive effective radiotherapy annually. Stereotactic radiotherapy systems are installed in the center - with the help of which radiotherapy is conducted with minimal risk of complications. Healthy tissues are not adversely affected, since exposure accuracy is up to 1 mm.
TARGET THERAPY IN THE EUROPEAN INSTITUTE OF ONCOLOGY
Target therapy is a technology for the cure of cancer, which involves the introduction of a source of radiation into the neoplasm itself or very close to it. Such a localized effect does not affect healthy organs, which allows maximum preservation of the patient's body functions.
