Professor, MD, a chief doctor of the Gynecology Department at the University Hospital of Freiburg. Herald Gitsch is included in the list of leading specialists in gynecology according to the German magazine Focus. He graduated from the Medical Faculty of the University of Vienna. Received his specialization in the field of surgery, pediatrics and internal diseases in the basis of the Medling clinic.
He worked in the Gynecological Center of the University Hospital in Vienna, and later on successfully passed the exam in the specialty of a gynecology. Practiced at the Royal Women’s Clinic in Sydney, received additional specialization in cytology. Arriving in Germany, in 1998 he took the post first deputy chief physician, and already in 2001 – the chief doctor of the Gynecological Clinic of Freiburg.
He acted as a visiting professor in academic and medical institutions of the USA, China, Australia, Turkey. Under the guidance of Herald Gitsch, the Gynecological Clinic of Freiburg in 2004 received the European Gynecological Oncology Center certificate the first in Germany , and in 2012 it was recognized as one of the leading clinics in Germany in the field of diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases.
