About the doctor
In 2006, Professor Dieter Christian Wirz was appointed the youngest professor of orthopaedics and traumatology to head University Hospital Bonn at the age of 39.
Graduated from the Medical Faculty of the Rhine-Westphalian Technical University in Aachen in 1992.
Author of almost 300 scientific publications, 10 books, member of many medical organizations, among them:
- since 2016 – member of the Presidium of the German Endoprosthetics Society.
- 2016 – 2020: National Delegate of the DGOU (German Society for Orthopedics and Traumatology) to EFORT (European Federation of National Associations of Orthopedists and Traumatologists).
- 2019 – Member of the Executive Committee (EU) of the German Endoprosthetics Register (EPRD).
- 2019 – Vice President of DGOOC, the president of DGOOC and DGOU in 2020.
Specialization: Orthopedics and traumatology, sports medicine, physiotherapy, rheumatology.
