Prof. Giedrius Uždavinys

One of the best specialists of the Meliva clinic in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. He graduated from the Medical Faculty of Vilnius State University. Passed his professional development in many centers of the world: in Novosibirsk, Moscow, Kyiv, Brno, Hanover, Munich Frankfurt, Bonn, Utrecht, London, Brussels, Madison, Jacksonville, Los Angeles and many others. A highly qualified cardiac surgeon performs all types of cardiovascular and vascular surgeries, including heart transplantation. The professor practices complex left ventricular operations and geometric reconstruction of the left ventricle (Dora operation) in patients with an aneurysm or postinfarction myocardial scar. Giedrius Uždavinys introduced new methods of valve plastics, improved methods for protecting the myocardium, and the first in Lithuania to undergo a coronary artery bypass surgery, including synthetic vascular sonography. Also, the famous cardiosurgeon founded the VUL Santariškės clinic and personally supervised the coronary surgery department for 26 years. Since 2003, Prof. Giedrius Uždavinys lead the clinic of Meliva and is its leading cardiac surgeon.
