Author of numerous scientific articles, is actively involved in research in oncological, vascular and spinal neurosurgery. A graduate of the Medical Faculty of the Padua University of Italy and the Nuremberg University of Erlangen in Germany. He practiced and gained experience in medical institutions in Austria, Switzerland and the USA. In 1995, he was appointed chief physician at the Neurosurgery Clinic in Bonn. In 1999 he was awarded the title of professor.
