About the doctor
Graduated from the Medical Academy of Magdeburg. He received his specialization degree in surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics and physiology in the basis of the Magdeburg Institute of Neurobiology and Brain Research. He further did specialty in pediatrics, after completing his studies at the Center for Pediatrics at the University of Hessen. In the same place he continued to work as a senior doctor of general pediatrics, neonatology and children’s resuscitation. Later, he served as assistant medical director of pediatric hematology and oncology at the University of Hessen. In 2003 he received the title of professor of pediatric hematology, oncology and stem cell transplantation. Winner of the Adalbert Czerny Award from the German Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, as well as a prize from the German Society of Hematology and Medical Oncology.
Membership in professional organizations:
- Member of the Board of Directors of the European Society of Hematology (EHA).
