Clinic Review

vitruvian hospital

Vitruvian Clinic is a specialised aesthetic medicine centre located in the heart of Turkey - Istanbul. This hospital specialises in outpatient aesthetic procedures in the fields of dentistry, dermatology and trichology (hair loss treatment). The main advantages of this medical centre are the extremely high level of quality of the medical procedures performed and the first-class service. Thanks to this Vitruvian has become the No.1 choice for many of our patients, who are ready to entrust their beauty and health to it again and again.

The majority of Vitruvian's patients are medical tourists, so there are special package offers for foreign visitors. Such packages usually include accommodation in a five-star hotel, individual airport/hotel/clinic transfers, a coordinating interpreter, all necessary consultations and diagnostic procedures, the intervention itself, as well as a follow-up consultation with care/recovery recommendations and, if necessary, additional materials (such as special shampoo after hair transplant).

Many patients take advantage of the quick treatment at Vitruvian - most procedures can be completed in 2 days and the person may return home immediately. But upon a request, the coordinators can also help with leisure activities, recommending 'must-see' attractions, restaurants and relaxation centres, or organising a shopping tour.

The hotels with which Vitruvian Clinic co-operates include the Grand Cevahir Hotel, Ramada Hotel & Suites and Sheraton Hotel. They are located in the central parts of the city, with convenient transport access.

With an excellent level of medical service, Vitruvian also boasts a good pricing policy. For example, a FUE hair transplant at this clinic costs €1,500, while the average cost for this procedure is around €2,000.

Thanks to the state-of-the-art equipment, modern techniques, and the doctors' constant striving for self-improvement, dental procedures here are performed efficiently, quickly, painlessly and with a long-lasting quality guarantee. Patient comfort is given great attention, so the dentist's office at Vitruvian Clinic is truly one that you don't have to be afraid of.

The dentists working at Vitruvian Clinic have extensive experience in a large number of procedures, but the most sought-after are:

The Vitruvian Clinic uses modern digital diagnostics, also called CAD/CAM, for dental interventions. This is a method of creating high-quality and accurate images of the oral cavity, which is used to plan subsequent procedures. It is particularly useful before dental implants, as it allows the doctor to simulate the results of the surgery and select a denture that best suits the patient's smile and jaw shape.

A little more about the dental procedures performed at Vitruvian Clinic:

dental treatment in turkey

    Root canal treatment

This is one of the most common dental procedures performed when there is moderate damage and infection to the tooth that has reached the root canal. Its main purpose is to prevent further damage to the tooth. During the surgery, the inflamed tissue areas are removed, cleaned and replaced with a special filling. A timely root canal treatment is necessary to avoid tooth removal.

    Prosthetics

Prosthodontics is performed when a tooth is completely lost. An artificial tooth made of titanium or zirconium oxide is fixed in the jaw with a titanium screw. It is an invasive procedure that requires a longer recovery time (usually 2 to 4 months), but it provides long-lasting and natural-looking results.

    Tooth crowns

Sooner or later, most people need to have crowns placed. This is a procedure performed for mild and superficial tooth damage and discolouration. Crowns are placed over the diseased tooth and protect it from further decay. If the dentist's recommendations are followed, quality crowns can last up to 15 years.

    Bridge prosthetics

Bridges are used when the patient has gaps in the tooth row. In such cases, the dentist individually creates a "bridge" - bonded models of three teeth, which are placed on the patient in place of the missing tooth and its two neighbours, thus filling the space. These bridges can be permanent or removable, and are sometimes combined with crowns, depending on the condition of the mouth.

Hair transplantation at the Vitruvian Clinic

Vitruvian Clinic has several rooms for hair transplantation. Professionals with many years of experience work here and give each patient a lifetime guarantee of the result. Here, great attention is paid to achieving a natural-looking hairline, and therefore FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) and DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) methods are favoured.

    FUE hair transplantation

FUE is the most common method of hair transplantation today. During this procedure, the doctor individually collects grafts from an area of the scalp with a large number of healthy and strong hair follicles (usually the back of the head). At the same time, canals are widened on the area of the scalp where the grafts will be transplanted. A whole team of doctors works on the procedure, so all manipulations are carried out very quickly and follicles spend a minimum amount of time outside the skin. At the same time, the doctor uses ultra-thin blades, so that the diameter of the incisions remains tiny - only 0.7 mm. This avoids severe scarring after surgery as with the older FUT method. After FUE transplantation, tiny scars in the form of red dots remain on the area of the scalp from which the follicles were taken. These either go away on their own after a while or can be removed by a dermatologist. In the vast majority of patients, evidence of the transplant is completely invisible underneath their natural hair length.

    DHI hair transplantation

DHI is a modification of FUE hair transplantation that simplifies the transplantation process by using a special instrument - Choi pen. It is a device that allows both graft removal and implantation to be performed in one stage without the need for prior enlargement of the canals. As a result, the hair follicle spends less time outside the scalp in contact with air, which has a better effect on its health. In this way, DHI transplantation contributes to better engraftment of hair follicles. In addition, in the hands of an experienced doctor, this technology can allow for greater hair density and the recovery process for the patient is usually faster and easier.

Typically, the DHI procedure is slightly more expensive than FUE due to the higher cost of consumables - Choi pens are individualised for each patient and the doctor uses about 6 per transplant. However, this does not necessarily mean that patients undergoing FUE surgery will have "worse" results. The choice of which type of transplant to perform depends largely on the initial data - the degree of baldness, the number and density of grafts, and other factors. Different procedures will work best for different patients.

The preparation and post-operative care process for both FUE and DHI hair transplants are the same. Usually, the patient's hair is shaved off before surgery to facilitate the procedure and to give the surgeon better control over the angle of growth of the new hairs. However, Vitruvian Clinic also performs hair transplantation without shaving the head for both men and women. It can be used for both FUE and DHI transplants, but there is a significant limitation: patients who have hair thinning over large areas of the head and need more than 3,000 grafts will not be suitable for shaveless hair transplantation.

The Vitruvian hair transplantation package includes all preoperative examinations and consultations, shampooing (immediately after the transplant, the scalp skin is super-sensitive and requires delicate care), and the shampoo kit itself, which will need to be used for some time after the operation.

After hair transplantation, hair fallout ("shock loss") will occur for the first 1-2 weeks. However, do not be alarmed - only the surface hairs fall out, but the follicles remain healthy and will grow back over the next 8-12 months.

The Vitruvian Clinic also performs eyebrow transplants and beard transplants. These operations are carried out in the same way as a conventional hair transplant. The only difference is the smaller number of grafts and the choice of donor site - often the hair is still taken from the back of the head, but sometimes the doctor can use hair located on the body. It all depends on the individual characteristics of the patient and which approach will achieve the most natural results.

PRP therapy at Vitruvian Clinic

prp терапия волос

PRP, or platelet-rich plasma injections, is a popular and effective treatment method in aesthetic medicine. At Vitruvian Clinic it is used for hair loss and some skin problems.

The essence of the method is the production of a special serum from the patient's blood plasma. This serum, filled with platelets and life-giving substances, is administered in the form of injections into the patient's skin areas of concern. Extracellular growth factors have a strong stimulating effect, promoting faster cell division and improved cell health. Some of the positive effects patients may see include a faster healing process, less pain and inflammation, and faster hair growth.

In this regard, PRP therapy is used in two ways for hair loss: as a stand-alone treatment method and in combination with a full hair transplant.

In the first case, PRP stimulates hair growth after intense hair loss, which allows you to achieve a thicker look for your hair. PRP does not create new hair follicles, so it will not help with all types of alopecia. However, for some patients, such as women after pregnancy, it can show impressive results.

PRP therapy performed in conjunction with hair transplantation, is used to improve follicle engraftment. Thanks to it, patients get a thicker hairline at the transplant site and less scalp scarring. PRP therapy also promotes faster hair growth.

In addition, PRP therapy is often used in dermatology, in particular, to achieve a rejuvenating effect. Unlike lifts, fillers and Botox, this treatment method is minimally invasive and provides the most natural results thanks to the activation of collagen production. It is also used to treat acne scars and can be combined with other dermatological treatments such as lipofilling and fractional CO2.

Botox and fillers at the Vitruvian Clinic

One of the most popular requests from patients at Vitruvian Clinic is for cosmetic appearance correction. Botox and fillers are popular options because they are safe, non-surgical procedures that provide quick results. In addition, both methods are short-term, meaning that if a patient doesn't like the results, all they have to do is wait a couple of months and everything will be back to normal; which is not the case with plastic surgery and facelifts.

Botox uses a substance isolated from bacteria that "freezes" the muscles. It is most effective in cases where you need to eliminate expression lines. For the same reason, Botox can also help patients with migraines and tics.

Fillers are hypoallergenic synthetic substances such as hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxyapatite, poly-L-lactic acid or polymethyl methacrylate. They are used to "fill in" areas of sagging skin or to augment desired areas (such as the lips).

Botox and fillers are often used to rejuvenate the appearance, but they can also be used to correct features that the patients would like to change for aesthetic purposes.

The key to what results to expect from "beauty injections" depends on the professionalism of the doctor. The right dosage of the substance and the injection site determine whether the effects of the procedures will look natural or not. This is why it is so important to choose a doctor with whom you have a good rapport and a mutual understanding of the goals you want to achieve by turning to aesthetic medicine.
