The Minsk Regional Hospital (MRH) is a wide-ranging clinic that is one of the leading hospitals in Belarus for foreign patients.
More than 1,000 medical employees work here, of whom about 290 are doctors. About 100 doctors have the highest qualification category.
There are 24 departments, two dozen auxiliary and therapeutic-diagnostic units, as well as an Emergency Medical Center, four Republican medical centres, a medical statistics department, a pharmacy, two health posts and a consulting policlinic providing medical services in 29 directions.

The clinic actively implements innovative methods of diagnostics and conservative treatment of cardiovascular diseases, neurological disorders, pulmonological and allergological diseases, as well as haematological and gastroenterological pathologies. Methods of care for patients with kidney failure, strokes and heart attacks have been developed and implemented here.
According to a decree from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, the MRH is the main platform for clinical trials in cardiology, ophthalmology, pulmonology, surgery, radiology, neurosurgery, traumatology, physical therapy, neurology, intensive care, functional diagnostics, urology and nephrology. The hospital also conducts clinical trials of foreign medications and medical equipment.
In 2010, MRH specialists, for the first time in world medical practice, performed cervical oesophagus plasty in a child with free transplantation of the jejunum segment with temporary revascularization of the graft through the radial vessels.
Treatment of foreign patients at MRH
Minsk Regional Hospital has been in operation since 1972. It serves not only residents of the country, but also foreign citizens. The organization of treatment for foreigners is handled by their partners, including the international medical platform MediGlobus.
For international patients, MRH provides services such as visa support, transfers, hotel reservations for patients and accompanying persons or relatives (if necessary), and translation of medical documentation.

The Functional Diagnostics Department of the Minsk Regional Hospital is equipped with modern computerized equipment for the examination of patients with neurological, cardiological, pulmonary and other diseases. Every year, more than 40,000 diagnostic procedures are performed here.

MRH Orthopedics has high-tech therapeutic and diagnostic equipment. More than 1,500 patients are treated in this department each year, about 600 of them being children. Among the services of the orthopaedic and trauma department are joint endoprosthetics, minimally invasive operations for the treatment of bone injuries, as well as osteosynthesis of fractures using gamma nails and capillary or cannulated screws.
Surgery at MRH
The clinic has two surgical departments staffed by the country’s leading specialists, in particular Dr Dmitri Chepit. Minimally traumatic surgical interventions for the treatment of abdominal organs and the digestive system are performed here.
For example laparoscopic operations for the treatment of hernias of various localizations using mesh explants, minimally invasive treatment of liver cysts and abscesses, laparoscopic cholecystectomy using an ultrasound scalpel in patients with pacemakers, laparoscopic gastric plasty to reduce the size of the stomach and minimally invasive removal of benign masses in the retroperitoneal space.
Neurosurgical Department of Minsk Regional Hospital
The Department of Neurosurgery at Minsk Regional Hospital is equipped with the latest technology. It provides round-the-clock diagnostics for patients. To detect diseases of the brain and spinal cord (neoplasms, hematomas), as well as pathologies of the spinal column (intervertebral hernias, protrusions) the latest models of CT and MRI machines are used.
