  • The 128 slice SOMOTOM Definition CT scanner allows diagnosing heart disease with 100% accuracy. The radiation exposure of the patient during the procedure is 50% less than during diagnosis with a 64 slice CT scanner. It also provides the clearest images of the heart.
  • The SELENIA digital mammography – allows a comprehensive examination of the breasts with minimal radiation exposure that is 25-30% lower compared to conventional mammography. The device displays the smallest cysts and tumours, thus eliminating the need for additional mammography.

Interbalkan Hospital Thessaloniki is the only private medical institution in Greece to have a Cancer Council. Each patient’s case is treated individually to ensure a 100% accurate diagnosis and eliminate medical errors. The Interbalkan Cancer Centre has performed the first robotic inguinal lymphadenectomy (Dukan surgery) for penile cancer in Europe.

The operation was performed by certified oncourologists Athanasios Bekos and Andreas Andreou, who pioneered the use of the da Vinci robotic-assisted system in Greece and beyond. Groin lymph node surgery is the only effective treatment for cancer of the external male and female genitalia. Despite this, such surgery is rarely performed in the world, as open surgery involves high trauma, severe pain, long recovery times and high treatment costs.

Robotic inguinal lymphadenectomy, on the other hand, is the safest and most successful treatment method. It avoids groin complications such as skin necrosis, post-operative wound opening and lymphocele.
